Here at CASW, we believe that summer is a great time to seek out new experiences. Since Summer Rising runs for longer hours, we try to provide our participants with programming that varies from that of the school year. And, since we’re located in NYC, we try to take advantage the various cultural experiences at our disposal!
Our Summer Rising participants at PS 18 are developing their musical abilities and letting their creativity flourish through Caribbean drumming lessons! Likewise, participants at PS 115, Bronx River, and the Dyckman Community Center had the opportunity to visit the Children’s Museum of Manhattan, where they worked on their very own crafts!
Also, Summer Rising participants from various sites also had the opportunity to participate in Harmony Day, an annual picnic held by the NYPD in order to foster a culture of collaboration and inclusion in NYC. Participants got to enjoy various activities – such as pony rides!
