(CASW) is a 501(c)(3) organization created to engage at-risk youth in a range of age-appropriate programs and activities that will increase their self-esteem and confidence, and prepare them to participate fully as productive members of society.

Purpose Statement
The job of School Program Assistant Group Leader is established for the purpose/s of supporting the Group Leader in helping students develop and strengthen academic, physical, and social skills by helping and tutoring students in the after-school program.

Job Location & Commitments
● Upper Manhattan & Bronx
● Part-Time, and Seasonal if Hired for Summer only
● Monday-Friday
● After School Hours, Summer Camp hours as well if employed for Summer
Key Responsibilities
● Assists students with homework assignments, make up work, etc.,
● Assists with program components for the purpose of delivering services that conform to established guidelines.
● Monitors individual students, classroom, library, recreational activities for the purpose of ensuring availability of items.
● Includes homework assistance, recreational activities, leadership development, education, and career development
● Assists group leaders in maintaining behavior standards for students.
● Attends staff meetings and professional development training

Individual Responsibilities
● Arrive on time for work or contact the supervisor when delayed
● Be reliable in attendance and give ample notice for absences
● Come to work with a positive attitude
● Approach criticism with a learning attitude
● Good Role Model

Education & Experience
● High School Diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.
● Two years’ experience working with elementary grade students is preferred but not required.
● Able to work independently and/or as part of a team
● Good communication skills

Pay and Benefits
● $16.50 per hour
● 56 hours of paid sick leave per fiscal year

Work Location: In person, sites in the Bronx and Washington Heights
