Welcome to 2025!!! As we embark on a new year, it’s natural that we reflect on where we’ve been and, most notably, where we’re going. At CASW, each year brings its own unique set of opportunities and experiences, and it is still very early to tell what exactly some of those may be. Nonetheless, as our sites fall back into their respective rhythms after the holiday break, we’re already looking forward to what’s next on the calendar.
Here’s what’s in the cards for CASW in the year ahead:
WLG & AND ANOTHER SUMMER WITH SYEP
As our WLG participants return from their school break, they’re already preparing for phase II of the program. To recap, phase I was all about brushing up on their professional skills; namely office etiquette, interview skills, and crafting the perfect resume. In phase II, these up and coming professionals will be able to put those skills to the test during their part-time internships. However, as we prepare to send them off to various employers around NYC, we’re also gearing up for the next big phase of Workforce: SYEP 2025!!! Soon enough, applications will open for an unforgettable work experience unique to #nycyouth. Stay tuned for further updates about info sessions, applications, etc.
SUMMER RISING 2025:
Sooner than you think, we’ll be announcing the applications for summer rising 2025; yet another summer of adventures, friendship, and of course, learning – both about ourselves and the world around us. Last summer, we did a little of EVERYTHING; from skateboarding to butterflies, to amusement parks and even amateur photography. Summer Rising is officially a time where our participants are free to explore horizons that aren’t always available to them throughout the school year. Who knows what we’ll see this summer?
AFTER-SCHOOL HITS ITS STRIDE
As we’re writing this, the school year is reaching its midway point. That means that our various after-school programs have been operating for a few months; we’ve already witnessed some incredible celebrations, learning initiatives, and projects. Aside from providing an extracurricular outlet to students, we pride ourselves on providing after-school services that expand upon what they learn in school. Between swimming lessons, gardening, and even base-level robotics, we’re confident that our participants will surprise us with even more accomplishments before the school year is over.
As an institution, we’re grateful to our staff and partners for making all of this possible, and look forward to reporting more on these stories in the near future!
