It’s summer at last, and that means that CASW is kicking off its busiest seven weeks – filled with new experiences, lessons, and friendships for young people all across NYC. So whether you’re starting on summer camp for the very first time or looking to begin your summer job, we’ve got the scoop on what’s in store for the days to come. Last summer, we had the pleasure of guiding hundreds of young people through a formative seven weeks; whether it was summer camp or summer job, we were there every step of the way.
Summer Rising & the adventures to come:
Summer rising is truly underway, and our participants are looking forward to 7 weeks of trips, academic enrichment, and opportunities to grow their social skills. Whether it’s completing projects in the classroom or exploring what the city has to offer, we’re here to support our participants in all aspects of their growth. That’s why we’ll be publishing our interviews at different summer rising sites all summer long – so you can see what it’s really like to spend a summer with CASW.
SYEP – The Importance of the summer job
For older youth (specifically high school and college students), summer might look like starting their very first summer job. Thousands of SYEP participants are starting their first week of work right now, and they’re looking forward to 7 weeks of hands-on experience and teachable moments. As their post-school path begins to take shape, it’s crucial that young people gain a sense of the working world; what it’s like to work outside of school, saving money, and even essential networking skills. To us, SYEP is more than just a summer job – it’s a gateway to your future career.
