The Activists of Tomorrow

At CASW-PS 37, Summer Rising participants were introduced to environmental advocacy and green-living through project-based learning. Participants as young as kindergarten/first-grade learned about sustainability practices, such as recycling, re-using old goods and materials, or reducing waste overall.

This summer, they are tasked with putting together an on-site campaign to raise awareness about these issues; namely through posters and other artistic projects. Aside from engaging participants in educational-play, these projects also have the potential to introduce civic participation in an age-appropriate context.
