The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is one of the largest youth employment programs in the country – and as such, there are thousands of young people across NYC with questions about summer 2026. Just last week, we had the chance to hear them out, and ask a few questions of our own. CASW hosted our annual in-person job placement event at our Boone Ave office. The event, which was also attended by dozens of Bronx/Manhattan employers/worksites, was a chance for participants to get to know employers and finalize their summer job pick. However, it was also a chance for us to interact with youth, staff, and worksites one on one – so here’s an exclusive scoop on the summer to come:

Lemonade & Yap: What NYC Youth are Saying About SYEP 2026
As dozens of youth were lined up out the door for their summer job placement, we chose to sit down with a few as part of our segment called “Lemonade & Yap,” where we discuss SYEP and a couple of other topics regarding life, the city, and more. This year, we were glad to find a variety of answers in regards to things like direct deposit, school, and even a little round of “Would You Rather.” At the same time, we also were able to conduct longer format interviews with worksites and staff about what to expect in the weeks ahead and what makes CASW special as an SYEP provider. Stay tuned on our socials, where we’ll be posting interviews and clips from yet another successful event!

Beyond the Job Placement: How CASW Empowers Next-Gen Leaders
As an agency dedicated to NYC youth, you’ll know that we specialize in providing young people with the resources they need to grow and chase their dreams. In person events like this one at our Boone Ave office are a special opportunity to connect with these young people one-on-one and give them individualized attention in regards to their summer goals and beyond. And if you didn’t get the chance to stop by and meet us in person, no worries – we’re looking forward to connecting with each of you this summer!
