At CASW, we appreciate the opportunity to expose young people to different worlds and, by extension, diverse pathways. When it comes to CASW-Workforce in particular, we believe that it is extremely important for young people to gain hands-on experience; only then is it possible for them to imagine themselves in a given career.
Fashion Meets Craft: Inside the Hermes Paris Event for Aspiring Creatives
Recently, some of our SYEP participants were invited to a press showcase event held by Hermes Paris, where attendees had the opportunity to create their own masks using scrap materials from Hermes’ very own workshops! This specific activity sought to celebrate the brand’s commitment to high-quality, artisan materials and encourage guests to explore their own creativity. Aside from these crafts, the event also consisted of a small panel discussion with Petit H’s creative director, Godefroy de Virieu.
Building Career Connections and Expanding Networks in the Fashion Industry
This experience was invaluable for the SYEP participants in attendance, as they themselves are aspiring toward careers in fashion. Aside from a chance to showcase their creative abilities, this event also brought various opportunities for networking. In a broader context, this unique event allowed our participants to gain insight into the world of luxury fashion, specifically by providing real perspectives on the skills and dedication necessary to make it in such a competitive industry.
Empowering Youth Through Hands-On Learning Opportunities
Experiences like this lie at the heart of our commitment to workforce development, since we believe that interactions like these are the building blocks of a young person’s professional journey. We know that our participants learn more about the job and industry through real-life application and so we’re dedicated to connecting them to the perfect opportunities.
We like to think of it as a little sneak peak of the next generation of professionals!
