The holidays are here, and all month, our agency has been busy with seasonal cheer through celebrations at our various sites. The holiday spirit was recently, especially present at Bronx River Community Center, where we counted down the days with some amazing events. Whether it was embracing a spirit of fun through a community game night, or reveling in the beautiful displays of our winter wonderland; we have some spectacular events to look back on.
Community Game Night with Groupr
Bronx-River Cornerstone recently partnered with Groupr and NYCHA to host a Community Game Night. Groupr is a grocery delivery service specifically designed for clients that use EBT. This event was in part an opportunity for Bronx River residents to learn more about their services. Aside from participating in various games, residents also had the opportunity to enter various raffles for different prizes, including a PS5! The night was a resounding success and, most importantly, a chance for our neighbors to let loose and have fun.
Walking through a Winter Wonderland at Bronx River
The month of December brought another honored tradition to Bronx River residents, and it was the annual Winter Wonderland. This event, which is designed for the entire community, included showcase performances, a toy drive, and a special appearance by the Grinch! This year, the Winter Wonderland also acts as a culminating event for the first quarter of the Artist in Residence program, headed by Dominique Robinson, whose talent and expertise helped lead our participants across the beautiful showcases present that evening. Of course, the event was further made possible by various partners such as the Public Housing Community Fund and Stand Up to Violence.
We always appreciate an opportunity to come together as a community and, in this new year, hope there are many more to come!!!
