Children's Arts & Science Workshops, Inc.

The Workforce Programs (SYEP, Ladders For Leaders & WLG) purpose is to provide New York City youth with employment and educational experiences that build on their individual strengths and incorporate youth development principles. These principles include engaging the talents and interests of youth, developing their skills and competencies, and providing positive adult role models.

The goals and objectives of the WORKFORCE PROGRAM are:

1. Provide a Safe and Supervised Work Experience:

  • Ensure a valuable work experience for youth in a safe and well-supervised environment.
  • Establish job sites that prioritize safety and supervision. 
  • Implement effective monitoring mechanisms to ensure a secure work environment.

2. Development of Positive Work Habits and Skills:

  • Enable youth to acquire positive work habits and develop employment-related skills.
  • Instill essential work habits such as punctuality, responsibility, and teamwork.
  • Provide training and support to enhance employment-related skills.

3. Develop Financial Literacy and Transition to Adulthood:

  • Enable youth to develop financial literacy and other competencies for a successful transition to adulthood.
